Objective:
Design a suspended maintenance system to accommodate both one-man rope descents and suspended powered platforms. On the twelfth level both roof anchors and davit bases were recessed below pavers to eliminate obstructions in the walking area. Because the overhang was deeper than the maximum davit arm reach, holes were cut in the overhangs to allow the cables supporting a suspended powered platform to hang freely from the davit arm close to the face of the building. A pair of portable davit arms was supplied to the buildings. The davit arms were tested in Summit Anchor Co.'s shop before they were shipped to the client. The davit bases were tested in the field after installation.
