New Walmart Headquarters one of Summit Anchor’s Largest Projects
Written by – Keisha Winston
Summit Anchor Company announced one of its largest fall protection contracts ever, which includes seven buildings at the new Walmart headquarters.
The Frederick, Maryland-based company is now manufacturing equipment for multiple buildings that make up Walmart’s 350-acre campus in Bentonville, Arkansas. The new Walmart headquarters opened last month.
“This project demands a lot” says Gus Strats, Summit Anchor CEO and president. “Fortunately, Summit Anchor is well positioned to take on a major project like this. We can handle the work.”
The new Walmart headquarters focuses on sustainability, offering modern features that tap into the natural surroundings. Features of the campus include fitness areas, convenient parking, an on-site child care facility, and dining options.
This is Summit Anchor’s first deal with a major commercial company, one of the world’s largest. The project includes design, manufacture, installation and testing of rooftop fall protection systems and a suspended access system for the building façade.
Strats says Summit Anchor’s internal growth and improved processes have helped it meet the demands and needs required for larger projects with major corporations like Walmart. With over 25 years in the fall protection industry, better trained employees and more streamlined processes, Summit Anchor is poised to take on future projects with a large scope.
“The stage is set for other large projects that we have in the works,” says Strats. “Summit Anchor is ready for bigger things.”
