Summit Anchor believes in getting it right from the start, so its latest course hits the nail on the head.
The company recently hosted a Lunch and Learn class tailored for architects. The aim is simple: explain anchor layout for rope descent systems so that designers incorporate the safety measures in their initial plans.
On February 22, Summit Anchor President and CEO Gus Strats presented the class to WDG Architecture at the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) approved continuing education credit for the course entitled Anchor Layout for Rope Descent Systems.
“Most high-rise window cleaning is performed by workers using RDS, so knowing why and how to place anchors at specific points improves worker safety,” Strats said. The hour-long class discussed how to layout anchor points for RDS that is based on sound rigging practices. The course also touched on fall protection systems for workers on roofs. WDG attendees commented that the presentation was informative. AIA members receive continuing education credits for the course, while non-AIA members receive a certificate of completion.
